Florida Looks to Expand Stand Your Ground In Response to “Woke” Mobs

Governor DeSantis Seeks Protection of Life and Property in Wake of “Woke” Mob Violence

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – Life, liberty, and the protection of property, these are the legitimate functions of government, which form the the bedrock cornerstone to Western Philosophy and civilization. As such, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who recently walked back locking down his state, indicating such was a mistake he will never make again, is now seeking to enable Floridians the ability to defend themselves without criminal penalty against the “woke” mobs such as those from the radical left who have sown chaos & destruction across the country since May.

The governor is specifically seeking an expansion of the “Stand Your Ground” law presently on the books in Florida. Predictably, critics of the proposal absurdly proffer that should the law be expanded, armed vigilantes will be roaming the streets hunting down minorities. However, reading the actual proposed legislation, nowhere are armed militias, vigilantes, and/or individual citizens empowered to actively initiate seeking out unlawful acts. Per usual, the reality is that a person acting to protect themselves against a mob of people seeking to harm them, their family, or their property, interfering with vehicular traffic, may legitimately raise the defense should they face criminal prosecution.

A purported copy of Governor Ron DeSantis’ amendments to Florida’s Statutes collectively known as “Stand Your Ground” obtained by the Miami Herald and also reported to be presently circulating in the Florida Senate can be read at the Herald’s website. In addition, the governor’s initial press release and one-sheet overview of what his office calls the COMBATING VIOLENCE, DISORDER and LOOTING and LAW ENFORCEMENT PROTECTION ACT on the matter is available via the Florida Executive Branch website
