Free Speech Shouldn’t Require a Permission Slip from Government
The picture above represents an homage to John Carpenter’s cult-classic “They Live” (1988) as every day Liberty becomes more of an alien concept to the U.S. Government. Whereas the U.S. once prosecuted torturing war criminals, now even when they know the prisoners are innocent, it tortures using the excuse of manufactured fear in the phony war on terror as justification. Where the U.S. Government once chastised the East German police state’s surveillance apparatus, now thanks to heroes like Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning, we know the Federal Plantation does its best to keep a watch on all Americans. Where once, the U.S. Government scolded the Soviet Union for persecuting dissenters and forbidding citizens from leaving, it now uses the crisis it created through the enticement of the Welfare State to scare Americans of immigrants in hopes Americans will willingly hand over additional liberty by restricting the right to work via a National Biometric ID and Berlin Wall on the southern border.
However, perhaps the greatest sign that the U.S. Government is conducting a War on Liberty: via NDAA it has suspended Habeas Corpus and claims the authority to not only indefinitely detain an American, but to at the sole whim of the Executive Branch, assassinate a 16 year-old American whose father they deemed to be a threat, regardless of failing to produce any evidence in a court of law.
Here at Liberty Talk FM, we are no fan of the FCC or its scheme of bypassing the First Amendment via declaring the airwaves “public” and thus pursuing a licensing scheme. The scam’s origin dates back nearly 100 years following the sinking of the Titanic, whereby the government sought to capitalize on controlling the then new media of radio, by blaming said sinking on too many Independent broadcasters clogging the air waves, which according to them prevented a response to the Titanic’s requests for assistance.Since implementing its scheme to “protect and make decent the airwaves for the public good” the FCC in serving its corporate masters, have strangled competition, to wit now six multinational corporations control over 95% of everything read, seen, or heard in America, and if the Time-Warner/Comcast merger is granted approval from the Federal Plantation, that number will drop to five.
Thus, for those foolish enough to believe the motive behind Net-Neutrality is anything other than an expansion of the Federal Plantation’s spying and privacy violating apparatus, you merely need ask yourself what is wrong with the internet now? Is it broke, have not speeds increased year after year after year? For the love of FSM, the internet as is, has allowed one gal with a penchant for Liberty and the poetry of code to assemble the first-ever all live talk radio station in history. 🙂
