Robin Tests the Efficiency of Homeland Security.
After 12 years, Robin has finally become an American. In this show, he shares a small part of the absurdity that ensued when the Department of Homeland security lost his citizenship application – TWICE. Robin’s experience of the legal immigration system has been a cross between Monty Python and Franz Kafka’s “The Trial” … and the whole thing rather reminds him of the movie “Brazil”.At the very end of the show, you will discover exactly where the government lost Robin’s citizenship application – and you’ll find it hard to believe.
The appointment that DHS claimed he had not attended, and DHS had in fact taken the retinal scans and fingerprints that they claimed not have taken – that he was able to get the bureaucracy back on track and get his naturalization as an American completed.
At the very end of the show, you will discover exactly where in Missouri the government lost Robin’s citizenship application – and you’ll find it hard to believe.
As the agent who interviewed Robin for citizenship told him, “If you’d not have kicked up a stink and written that letter, no one would have ever known”.
