Witz And Roz Give You Their Picks on This Week’s Biggest Games
Thursday night football kicked off and provided NFL fans with a little taste of what the 2017 season is going to be like, as the underdog Kansas City Chiefs took down the Patriots in New England. The Chiefs were led by their rookie running back Kareem Hunt, who fumbled on his first carry of the night but ended up totaling almost 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. All the Alex Smith doubters took a back seat on Thursday as he lit up the scoreboard with 4 touchdowns. Tom Brady? Talk about a rough night. No touchdowns and a sub 50% completion percentage.
College football week one is in the books and one thing we know for sure is that Alabama is the team to beat, though they did lose two key defensive starters in their matchup vs. Florida State. The Seminoles lost quarterback Deandre Francois late in the fourth quarter and this will most likely be a long season for them. Michigan put a beat down on the Florida Gators and their defense did not give up a touchdown the entire game (however their offense gave up two!). They easily covered the 5.5 point spread and will face an easier matchup this week against Cincinnati.
There’s a lot of great games this week in both college and the NFL, but Witz and Roz give you their picks for some of the biggest games. They are both on the Clemson train against Auburn, as the Tigers look poised to make another run at a national title with one of the best defensive lines in college football. They are also taking the Oklahoma Sooners +7.5 on the road against Ohio State. Baker Mayfield will definitely be the X-factor in this one, and the Sooners need to hold the OSU offense in check.
The Bengals are the pick of the week, as they are currently -2 at home against the Ravens. Witz think this is the year of Andy Dalton and it’s all going to start Week 1. Roz is of course on his Packers -3 at home vs. the Seahawks, and Witz is taking the Cardinals -2 on the road vs. the Lions. Sunday is going to be a wild ride, so everybody strap in for a fantastic NFL season. See you next week!
